Art Pepper. Live in Tokyo '79
Sorry, I can't find this on YT on Spotify. There's so much Pepper live material out there that's in various shades of bootleggery, and I guess this may be one of them.
Anyhow, if you love late period Art as much as I do and see the album (maybe have it already), the version of Red Car that kicks off proceedings is bonkers (in the most positive way). Pepper sounds as if he has so much welling up inside of him, and he goes off towards the stratosphere, sometimes struggling to keep it all together. Just fabulous!
