Jazz poetry :-O

edited January 2011 in Jazz
On my way home from work today I was thinking about the recent thread on bassists, and the jazz bassists mentioned therein.

Some may know I dabble (perhaps too flattering a word) in a few instruments. Bass amongst them.

I tried to recall any attempts at jazz bass I had made and dredged up a memory of a demo I recorded with a band about 10 years ago. There were a couple of proper jazzers in the band, although we were more of a funky hip-hop outfit, mixing live instruments and vocals with samples. I provided bass riffs, the occasional percussion burst and "jazz-rap" vocals...
B-)

Anyway in a weaker moment I was persuaded to try my hand and voice at the more 'jazzy'(?) piece linked below.
Given my limited bass abilities, the bass I am OK with (though it sounds more like The Doors than any jazz bass I can remember) - I can listen to it without leaving the room. The vocal though...:-O
I won't be attempting that again. [-X

Anyway, I thought the leftfield jazzers here might be interested...

P.S. Why did I ever sell that Guild fretless...? Lovely tone.
