New Linn iPhone app

edited May 2020 in Digital
I noticed Linn have dropped the Kazoo DLNA/UPnP/Home control point app.
The new app is iOS only at the moment - I dion't know if there will be a macOS version - and it's just called Linn.
It has lots more Linn-specific bells and whistles, but still works with my Minimserver/RPi/Sonos setups. And it looks beautiful.
There have been some complaints about instability on the App Store, but it's been fine so far on my iPhone. I'm very happy with the upgrade, although I hope they provide a macOS version soon.

  • Interesting.
This has coincided with the very day that, for the first time in 10 years or more, I have ordered a new smart phone that is not an Apple.

There may be an Android version. I haven't checked.
Why the move away from Apple, if I may ask?
  • Still Kazoo on Android.
  • Ben, come on, why the change and what is it?
  • Tends to suggest they'll be rolling out to other platforms.

    A  few reasons, I think.
Maybe an increase in boredom during lockdown. A change of phone is a source of stimulation!
Also given lockdown I have more time on my hands, so felt more able to look into alternatives.
I've never really liked iTunes. Not a biggie, but I feel no affection towards it.

    Samsung A10 I think.
I don't think anything it's anything special. But it has OK reviews.
