    That's one of the things I like about it. Miles pushed the boundaries 40 years ago, and it's still surprising.

    The way I got into this stuff was to listen to Michael Henderson's bass grooves. He was in his early 20s at the time (Miles lured him away from Stevie Wonder) and launched into the middle of that stuff. Miles wanted him to anchor it, which he did, amazingly.
